    Question about L3800 fuel gauge

Hi Bluegill, You said that you're getting 3 hours to the gallon. Could you tell me at approximately what rpm so I can get a feeling for what I should be getting with my L3800 I've been using at 2500 rpm. In the warm months I use my tractor exclusively for bush hogging. So I run it at 2500 rpm to...

    Rear work light on L3800

I just found out that my L3800 has a 10 amp fuse marked "Work Light" in the fuse panel. I poked around in the back of my tractor and found an un-used two wire connector under the left fender, by the lights. I also checked the Illustrated Parts List for the 3800 on Kubota's site and see that they...

    Question about L3800 fuel gauge

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to gain more experience with the fuel gauge. Sure wish it was more linear. Still, I love my Kubota.

    Quick-Hitch

I also agree. If it will fit your implements, a quick hitch is the way to go. I slightly modified my 8 year old Bush Hog Razorback to hook up to my Speeco Quick Hitch. It works great! Much easier than lining up the lift arms and pins.

    Question about L3800 fuel gauge

I did a search on this but didn't find anything. I have an L3800. When it was delivered it had a full tank of fuel. After 9 hours of bush hogging the gauge was reading just under 1/4. The L3800 is supposed to have a 10 gallon tank, so it appeared that I used about 8 gallons of fuel in 9 hours of...

    bushogging with MX5100

Do you think your dealer meant 6 to 8 inches of swing side to side? I would think you'd be hitting your tires if it was that loose. At the very least having 700 to 800 pounds swinging around 6 to 8 inches back there would damage something on your tractor all on its own. I have a 5 foot light...

    Coffee

I agree, its very hard to find good coffee. The coffee at my work is the worst. Many folks in my area make their coffee on the weak side, too. Not good at all. I need full bodied coffee. Best coffee for my taste is espresso. Grind fresh roasted beans just before you use them. You can...

    Adjusting Telescoping Stabilizer

Could it be that the stabilizers are hitting the tires preventing them from opening to their maximum? This could be the case if you have R-4s instead of R-1s.

    New guy here

I just checked the Kubota site http://www.kubota.com/configurator/BuildMyKubota.aspx?pgId=1&bmId=918&sId=125 The price for this tractor with the R4s is $654 more than with the R1s. Since the R4s are already on the tractor, and since he will be making less money by putting on the R1s, he has no...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Hello All, As promised, here are a couple pictures we took of the new tractor today. I'm glad I picked the L3800. I think it's all the tractor I need, and it's a beauty! Thanks for all your support, and answering my newby questions. Carl

Is CJ-4 oil ok to use in an L3800?

Hello all. Just bought a new L3800. I now have a question about the correct motor oil to use in it. On page 49 of the owner's manual it states that "CJ-4 engine oil is intended for DFP type engines, and cannot be used on this tractor". However, I just found a Kubota web site...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Hi Bluegill. If your L3800 can run a six footer, then 5 foot should be a piece of cake! Will you be running it on any hills? I have a couple of maybe 10 degree inclines where I will be mowing. I'd be curious to know how your tractor handles inclines with the six footer. I will be taking...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Homefront - It was pretty jerky when I had my bush hog on it. It acts as though the lever is stiff. It could be my imagination but it seems the lift is jerky because the lever has so much friction, or more likely the hydraulic valve is so stiff, that its almost impossible to move it smoothly and...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

The Kubota arrived this morning. It is bigger than I expected. The dealer I bought it from didn't have any L3200s or L3800s on his lot so I had nothing to go by when I bought it except what I saw on the internet. (Another dumb move on my part, but I really wanted to replace the 8N, now!). I...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Hi hodge, I postponed delivery till today, Wednesday. I didn't want to do the buyer's orientation in the rain yesterday. There's so much I need to learn about this tractor I didn't want to be rushed between rain drops. Will call the dealer in a few minutes to let him know to bring it over. I...

Is the L3800 good for running a 5 foot bush hog?

Hi, Well I have the L3800 coming Tuesday. Principle use will be for bush hogging about 3 to 4 acres every two weeks on a little hilly ground, maybe longer if the weekends are rainy. I have a 5 foot bush hog. I currently have a 62 year old 8N that was struggling a little with the bush hog in...

Question about using a bush hog

Thanks everyone! Great news about my new tractor, and my buddy with the Ferguson could use the chain, too.
