    Burning through snowblower belts

Looks like I have some parallel misalignment according to asgard's picture. I'm not sure what I can do about this since the angle of the pulley is determined by the lever arms that move it up and down, and the lever arm position is determined by the rear pins on the raise/lower bars (that the...

    Burning through snowblower belts

I did not think to check the pulley drag when hot, I will do that. How would I fix the angle? I do remember the top side of the previous belt being extremely worn just before it broke, so maybe the pulley angle is off?

    Burning through snowblower belts

Mower and snowblower models in signature. I go through about 2 belts in a winter season. It's the belt between the clutch and quick attach pulley that keeps burning up. I can smell the belt burning within 2 minutes of use, even on a brand new belt. I originally was thinking the center pulley is...

Best options for managing 40 acres of heavy woods?

The land is mostly sand and black dirt. It's roughly 15 acres of plantation pines that I will thin out with a chainsaw, and 20-25 acres of dense but small aspen that's been let go for 50 years. The aspen have almost no roots below the surface, and I can usually push/pull them over with an ATV...

Best options for managing 40 acres of heavy woods?

It's mainly flat, constant gradual slope that is not really noticeable. I don't plan on moving a lot of dirt, but there is a gravel drive way onto the property I'd like to maintain which also has a few massive rocks (~3 ft) that at some point either need to come out, or get buried further...

Best options for managing 40 acres of heavy woods?

I'm looking to buy something that I can manage my 40 acres for hunting. It's mostly thick aspen (95% is under 3 inch diameter) that I want to cut down part of, and trails through other parts. I'd like the option of being able to plant small corn fields, but not absolutely necessary. Originally...

    TG1860G Transmission is acting up.

The internal filter is supposed to be a life time filter, not replaced. I also broke some of the pan bolts, and used better hardware when putting it back together. I used ISO40 synthetic hydraulic fluid. It's been fine for the 10 or so hours I've put on it since the rebuild last year. I rebuilt...

Rear Attachment for Belt Driven Mower?

The TG1860G I have has a PTO pulley on the back. As far as I know Kubota never made any rear attachments for this model, they were all belly/front attachments (I think I have them all already). I'd like to see if I can mount a tiller (of any brand) and run it off this belt. Does anyone have...

    T1670 running slow

If it's transmission related it could be a couple things, both internal and external. Check the pedal linkage and lever as you pointed out to make sure the pedal is getting full travel. #170 in your picture is the transmission side lever, you can watch this lever while someone pushes the pedal...

    Kubota BX Front Axle Seal?

Not sure if it's exactly the same, but this looks similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ-rSQCa93w

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

So far yes. I've only used it once to snow blow my driveway, but it didn't leak during that use. It was pretty obvious the old pump seals were hard and worn out. The new pump did not spin as freely on the seals. Regarding the stop leak, I've never considered those a fix. They're an emergency...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

This is incorrect if replacing the water pump only. I know because I just did it. You will need to take off the 4 nuts holding the engine to the frame, and lift the front of the engine an inch or two, but the whole engine does not need to be removed. The weep hole leak is pretty obvious once...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

I recently learned about those plastic camshaft gears. Seems like a lot of Kubota and JD machines that also used the kawasaki FD590V (and related engine models) had the camshaft gear teeth break. They eventually went to metal on later designs, but I'm not sure when. My Internet searches say...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

Small update, it seems like this water pump style uses o-rings. It could be possible to disassemble it and replace the seals, instead of buying a new pump. I bought a new pump, but may rebuild my old one as a spare. The gear and pump impeller are also made of plastic, just something to be aware of.

2782B snowblower: very disappointed in ability

Kubota's seem to come from the factory with the augers in phase like your examples (mine was as well). When I rebuilt my blower I turned them 180 degrees out. I noticed with them in phase the snow would pulsate out of the shoot with each rotation of the auger. With them 180 apart the snow...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

For future reference of anyone having this problem, the weep hole is in the attached picture at about the 12:30 position from the impeller. The bolt to the left of it is in my other picture with the red arrow. I decided to replace the pump sooner than later since the gear side of the water pump...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

Thanks RCW, I know what type of water pump/fan setup you're referring to, and I think you and D2Cat are right about getting a new pump. I found this thread https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6881 that sounds very similar to mine. They never seem to need work when it's a...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

So my theory was wrong. It's not the radiator hose. I started it this morning and the same amount of coolant leaked out, and again only for a short time before it stopped. It's coming from somewhere near the water pump, although the bottom side of the pump and hose fitting are completely dry...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

I think I found a possible source of the leak. My theory is the radiator hose at the top started leaking on a cold night, ran down the hose which angles towards the front/muffler, and then pooled underneath the muffler due to a small lip on the underside panel. When I started the engine it...

    Mysterious coolant leak, TG1860G

It was definitely coolant. I just changed it this fall and it was bright green, same as the jug of extra mixed coolant sitting next to it on the garage floor. You bring up a good point though. It could have been coolant that leaked sometime between last time I used it and now. It wasn't...
