Replacing the seal between the gear case and bevel gear case. I have everything apart both sides and I have a few questions. The rim on the bevel gear case is a bit rusty from the leaky seal. Is it safe to sand it down a bit or will I risk losing seal? Same for the bottom of the gear case...

No worries, thank you. That's my plan, I figure over time something might become a little more obvious. I will check that. It is definitely better than shuttling, but not sure it is as smooth as it used to me. Thanks again
