I didn't even really think about the ram position mattering, but now it's blatantly obvious why. Pretty sure my FEL was in normal down/storage position when I checked it, but now worth a double-check to be sure.

Do you need a special tool to check/change/fill the oil on these things? I poked around and wasn't sure how I'd check it.

The leak basically stopped, until I fired it up and started driving around it came back albeit a little slower. I backed the oil filter off a half turn too, no clue what the issue is.

Gasket definitely came off with the old filter. If anything I man-handed the new filter on too tightly and squished that new gasket... Which could be the problem. I think the drip stopped while the tractor is just sitting, I'll fire it up in a few and see if the leak starts again when it's under...

Thanks guys! I'll start lowering it anyway. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't ignoring signs of a problem. I've received my complete filter set, and am about to undertake a full on fluids/filter change since I've got no idea when it was last done.

Is it normal for the 3pt hitch and mower deck to drop from a raised position when not in use, like sitting overnight? Is that indicative of a hydraulic fluid leak, and I'm going to assume it might be best practice to lower the 3pt/deck before storing the tractor?

I'm looking in the mower deck manual and it says "Grease the following parts every 50 hours": A: universal joint, B. Gauge Wheels (front, rear), C. Three Spindle Cases, D. Belt Tension Pivot and Tension Pulley Edit: this might be an older manual, but the decks look the same.

Can anyone share the part numbers needed for a BX2200 gauge? I'm intrigued guys are paying ~$30 but BXExpanded wants $70 before shipping.

Is that for puncture resistance, or weight to add stability? I'd think ATV/Dirt Bike tires wouldn't want the extra weight but obviously I don't know.s
