    Canadian Supplier of tire chains.

Fair enough, I haven't tried snowblowing any hills like that. I have a 1000ft gravel driveway, but it's fairly flat. Good luck on the chain hunt.

    Canadian Supplier of tire chains.

Have you considered studding your tires? You can get 100 for $90 on amazon. I got 200, 2 studs per lug on the back and 1 stud per lug on the front (every 3 of 4 lugs). I've never had an issue with traction, even on shear ice with a dusting of snow on top. I keep them on all year. But be warned...

Snowblower Front mount or rear PTO - Thoughts?

Rear snowblower and fel combo works for me (grand L4060). I have a 1000 foot driveway, fairly straight. I sit side-saddle, but if you tell anyone I'll deny it:D This involves swinging the seat to the right, sitting so that you're facing the right side door, and using your left foot for...

    Your Tractor's Name?

L4060 - named her Hazel. My mother in law worked on a farm as a teenager. They had one employee with a lead foot, Hazel. Every time she got on the tractor they'd yell "gunn'er Hazel". It stuck. Tundra - named Woody due to the maple tonneau cover I made for it.

    Darnit, there was a witness

So I clipped the corner of the compost bin with the fel, taking a turn a little too loose. No biggie, but I instinctively start looking around for witnesses. Of course, my wife was not 30 feet away at the garage door. :( What happened there? she asks. Got distracted by a beautiful...

    Daily Chuckle

This just happened today. Had a co-worker go off on a rant about millenials. They have it too good, you need to baby them, can't reprimand them cause it might hurt their feelings, no work ethic, entitled, and the list went on. This lasted for 5 minutes. At the end he finished with "I'm gonna...

    Daily Chuckle

I read the following in a bathroom stall. "Knock down the walls that separate us" followed by "If we did that there would be too many idiots in one room" Which I have to agree with, as above the urinal someone wrote "The future is in your hands" That was a fun bathroom...

Advice on Plowing Snow with Chains or 4x4

Now with the L3560 running a front blower and R1's so far after 3 winters I don't have any problem going without chains or studs however never say never, I have studs in the garage if the need arises. Each tractor is different as is the driver so find what works for you. The rubber chains may be...

    Studded tires

Studded tires are awesome for ice! I haven't used chains on my 4060, but I have used them on a lawn tractor (with snowblower). I found chains give a rough ride and would slip on ice if you're pushing into heavy snow. Not sure the same would be true with a heavier machine. R4's work really well...

Pulling down a huge stump with mini tractor... Video*

Depends on what you have planned for the spot. I'm currently clearing some land for an orchard. Leaving stump/roots in the ground is not an option. I bought a stump bucket for that. A 2 foot diameter tree may take an hour, 1 foot takes 20 minutes, anything under 6 inches is dealt with in a...

    New 4060

Couldn't help but notice that you didn't get a snowblower??? Didn't you guys just get nailed with a bunch of snow? I got my 4060 about a year ago, and love it. Only complaint, and this is minor, is that the tractor slows down when moving the snowblower chute. Enjoy! Work = Fun, now :D

Advice on Plowing Snow with Chains or 4x4

After a thaw and freeze cycle my driveway is a skating rink. Add a dusting of fresh snow and I couldn't climb a 2% grade (kept slipping sideways), good thing I had my FEL and bucket. I ended up putting studs in my R4s, and couldn't be happier. They do chew up concrete, but I've never had a...

    dismounting is not a failure

Glad you're OK, but bummer about the yard. I totally agree, I don't know what I'd do without my little orange hero. I have a 1000ft driveway, and I used to have a walk behind snowblower.
