Best ideas for adjustable lifting strap or chains?

I’ve used ratchet straps for adjustable lift straps. It’s obviously not their intended use, but lifting 500 lbs with a 2” strap rated for 3,300 lbs should be fine as long as you have a few wraps on the spool so it doesn’t slip.

    Post Hole attachment for BX25D

I have a Land Pride PD10 and it will only drill 26” deep. I made an 8” extension and can get to 34”. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/land-pride-pd10.57719/

    Let's talk shoes

I like these as well. I tried on every brand TSC had and these were the the most comfortable ones. They are steel toe, electrical hazard rated, and waterproof. They are unfortunately made in China but all of TSCs name brand shoes (Wolverine, Justin, Ariat) are as well and the Ridgecuts were the...

    Hydraulic issue on BX24

You need to connect the short hose on the left to the port on the right to complete the circuit. That will send fluid to the loader valve.

    Kubota in a CUB

I saw a Farmall Cub at a show that had a Kubota engine in it. It was very nicely built and even had power steering. For some strange reason, it was painted silver.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Scraped 4” of snow off the driveway that fell yesterday. Added it to the 6” we had last Sunday. Stayed cozy and warm inside the homemade cab.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Unplugged the battery maintainer from the BX24, hit the key, and it didn’t even try to turn over. Jumped it with the jump pack, pulled it outside and let it run for about 20 minutes. Backed it into the garage, shut it off and it wouldn’t turn over. The battery is at least 7-1/2 yrs old as it was...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Monday, I put the homemade cab on the BX and cleaned the windows. I just need to cover the radiator screen under the dash and remove the covers below the battery.

Give me a lever, and a fulcrum on which to place it..............

Nicely done! My wife wouldn’t have been as understanding if I said “Now hear me through….” Lol I’m glad I didn’t have to go through any of that with my machines. When I got my mill, I borrowed a neighbor’s old Allis Chalmers rough terrain forklift to pick it off my trailer and set it in my...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Used the pallet forks and a skid to move the deck furniture to the barn for winter. The battery was dead, so I had to jump it. I moved the tractor to the garage and hooked it to the battery charger/ maintainer when I was done. It’s quite the game of Tetris to fit all of the deck and patio...

Moving yards and yards of material, a hay wagon?

I built side boards for my 18’ car trailer to haul loose materials. I’ve hauled several loads of gravel, sand, busted up concrete, etc. I screw down plywood to keep materials from falling through the gaps in the boards. I block up the tail of the trailer and drive the tractor up the ramps and...

Kubota BX 25 Bucket hooks, are these any good ? which style?

I do tend to over complicate designs but in this case I went simple-but-effective. A 3/8” chain fits in fine. I wanted them out of the way for my homemade forks that hang over the top lip of the bucket.

Kubota BX 25 Bucket hooks, are these any good ? which style?

I went the cheap route and bolted on some weld-on hooks to the sides of the bucket with 3/8” bolts.

Kubota BX 25 Want to add a thumb to BT601 Backhoe, Looking for advice.

I had thought about welding some stops onto the stick as well. It would definitely have fixed the sliding issue. The modifications I made to the thumb were posted here. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/kubota-bx24-mechanical-thumb-bolt-position-question.41332/

Kubota BX 25 Want to add a thumb to BT601 Backhoe, Looking for advice.

I had one of the cheap universal fit (Titan) manual thumbs on my BX24 for a while. It took quite a bit of modification to make it fit, clear the bucket curl cylinder, and stop it from sliding on the stick. I got tired of fighting with it and ended up making a hydraulic thumb.

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Few pics of the northern lights on Thursday night. They were slightly visible with the naked eye and my phone camera picked them up great.

    BX drawbar (?)

Add a 2” receiver and it becomes much more useful. I simply welded a receiver tube to mine but there are companies that make bolt-on replacement pieces.

The Lottery - Anyone hit it?

Not to brag, but I hit Powerball for $8 on Wednesday. I’ve stopped answering the phone and knocks on the door to try and keep it all for myself. Lol I did win a couple of 50/50 drawings at work for a friend named Denny, that was diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t keep one cent for myself and gave...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

We have that same Nardini lathe at work. It’s a solid machine. It will cut Inch and Metric threads but I believe it requires a gearing change. I’ve only cut threads on it a time or two. My only gripe with it is that the chip pan slides out the back so you need sufficient room behind it to empty...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

I had been looking casually for a Bridgeport mill for several years. I got serious at the end of last year and found a Taiwan built Willis mill. It’s built heavier than a Bridgeport and has a larger table with more travel in X and Y axis. Willis is in Toledo, Ohio and they stock replacement...
