Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Right? I thought the same thing. Especially considering there are some of these small cylinders floating around.

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Ok! got it put on and operating! Here's a couple pics, because of the 3 hour days here now, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get a good 'overall' picture of my set up. I ended up getting a friend to straighten out the angles on the clevises a bit. He got the bottom clevis almost straight with...

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

In the meantime, I'd adjust your toplink. Even up here with pretty frozen ground, the difference in bite angle (driving backwards with a 3pt Hitch blower) makes a big difference if it 'digs' down towards and sometimes into the driveway surface, or 'floats' up on the snow a little. Most of the...

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

...... Here I am in -30*f Fairbanks, Alaska trying to picture a 'soft' snow covered driveway  . That is something that just doesn't happen here!

    Decreasing Down Pressure 3 Point

hmm most people (me included) would in general like to 'increase' down pressure on the 3 pt! I believe that the only down pressure on a 3pt hitch is the weight of the implement, so I don't know how you'd reduce that. I use my hydraulic top link (useful even on the snowblower!) to adjust the...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

I have a press for bending pipe that I built a bumper with. I wonder if I can fab something up and use it as a press to do this with? or if it would bust the welds on it.

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Thanks for the tips! will do. Fully retracted (and with my probable terrible measuring), the 'factory' mounting holes are 14" apart. So about 16" if the ram is at 2" out as you suggested. I'm thinking I won't get 13 1/4" pin to pin at 2" extension, but I'll see what I can get. Maybe 12" pin to...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Well ok, I'm just repeating what the salesman said it came from, not claiming any sort of expertise on kubota models. As far as not listening to his advice?? 'The problem' with tilt kits for a BX is them not being able to get short enough (as MtnViewRanch stated in his first response, that I...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

It's going to be -25*f tomorrow........ so it'll be a day or two! and apparently this was part of a top and tilt kit for a LX 26 series?

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Well I purchased it from them and will have it mounted soon. If I can get it slightly shorter than the non-adjustable lifting rod (Kubota's term for it), why would I have a problem with lift height? I'm pretty certain (because I mounted it and ran the hitch and side link through the full range...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

I wonder too about putting the adjustable side link on the left side when I add the hydraulic side link. I could then make that side longer to make up for the hydraulic side not being able to go much past 'level'.

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

I'm pretty sure the local Kubota dealer is going to make me an offer I can't refuse. While helping a widow neighbor pick up a snowblower for her B3030 I asked them about ordering me the side link for my BX. Well the salesman had a side link from some 'top and tilt' kit (I think for a B series)...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Thanks for the response. Yeah I was wondering about the hoses, I'd get some low temperature ones for up here anyway and they'd definitely need to be longer than a foot. I think I could work around the 'level' implement problem and being able to adjust on the fly sounds like it would make it more...

Hydraulic side link for BX series tractors

Anyone seen, or bought the hydraulic side link for BX series available from Messicks? (https://www.messicks.com/parts/wrlong/ttkubx2680-sl) Of course they want a small fortune for it ($650). I have already made a hydraulic top link for my BX23s. I put a spool valve on the ROPS to operate it. I...

Need help with B3030 without Front loader

Appreciate the help from everybody. Installing the hydraulic control kit ended up being pretty easy....... except Kubota specs the wrong bolts to install the valve support onto the frame, twice actually. The part assembly diagrams spec a M12-1.25 x 50mm bolt........ the bolt/attachment kit (same...

Need help with B3030 without Front loader

The machine doesn't have rear remotes either, I'm suggesting to her that she get the rear blade. My experience with a rear blade shows that a hydraulic top link is nearly indispensable...... I made a hydraulic top link setup for my BX23s

Need help with B3030 without Front loader

OK, makes sense. I had glanced over the instructions and saw the template they came with. I had assumed the template area would be cut out to mount the control lever, but I see it's just there to align the holes you have to drill. Good to know the cab doesn't have to come off either. Hopefully...

Need help with B3030 without Front loader

Hello, Little BX guy here and have a question about a B3030. I have a neighbor lady with a B3030 with cab (but no front loader). Her husband died this past August, but had purchased and planned to use the B3030 to keep their driveway clear of snow using a front snowblower and rear blade. Well I...

    Downsizing Newb

I added a home made hydraulic top link on my BX-23S and highly recommend this mod for using any 3pt hitch attachments. I also got the pin adjustable 'arms?' for the lower links to adjust width/offset. Again, makes hooking up and using 3pt attachments much better. Belly protection is a good idea...

    JDQA snow pusher on BX23s

Agreed on the chains! first couple of things I did on my steep hillside, install back wheel spacers and chains for the winter. I also got some screw in studs for the front wheels that seem to help a little.
