    Fireplace insert

Every fall we get advertising postcards in the mail from propane dealers advertising to fill at what appears to be a fair savings. I put those in the circular file. There’s always a catch or two. Its best to start with a locally owned company and stay with them in anything that requires ongoing...

Wood siding for new barn or something else?

What are the typical downsides? Cracking, I suppose? It seems everything under the sun has some. And whats a typical price per square? Im sure its not cheap by any means, but neither is ongoing maintenance. I put Cedar siding on around 25 years ago, and sure wish I would have went with steel or...

ZD21 blade not cutting under load

On my ZD thats happened occasionally, and its always been the cup washers. Perhaps you didn’t tighten the bolts enough the last time you changed blades? Or if they’re tight, its time for new washers.

    First Tractor Advice

Ive ran a cab through the woods cleaning up windfall and firewood gathering for over 25 years. Never broken any windows. Occasionally a branch will slap or scrape against it, but I don’t look at that as any big issue. As far as mowing all the brush, what for? That could turn into a many hour...

Fixing hole in side of block

I’m thinking Joe’s laughing his A** off. Will he make it to 1000 posts on pure BS? Its obvious he does whatever is the most detrimental repair in every instance. What other reason could there be other than the entertainment value?

Fixing hole in side of block

Joe, your use if the term ‘you’ in everything you describe, makes it sound like you fancy yourself as the teacher. But before you can teach you have to learn. Pay attention to the advice lots have given you. Can you really afford to piss away all you have on two junk heaps that won’t function...

The future of farming - Laser Weeding

Weeds start to do their damage to crop yeild as soon as they emerge. And they dont emerge all at the same time. So are they going to keep this machine going 24/7 for 2 or 3 weeks? Looking at it from an actual farming pov it seems like an expensive piece of scrap to me.

    Roundup active ingredient change

That doesnt make a lot of sense from an agricultural veiwpoint. The whole thing about using glyphosphates was that they had bred genes into crop plants to be resistant to the glyphosphate. I havnt heard that they have bred other resistances into those crops as well. But theres a lot I dont hear...

    Small engine trouble

Jason, fuel atomizes better when an engine is warmed up. Those ports I was referring to feed gas into the venturi when coming off idle and when your throttle plate is fully opened up they dont feed as much as when its barely open. If those are plugged up it could very well be not getting enough...

    Small engine trouble

How good are you at cleaning carburetors? Not a snide remark, but Ive seen lots of DIY,ers that don’t really know what to look for. You very well be proficient but most aren’t. Did you remove the welch plugs so you could verify all the passages are clear? The tiny ports that feed fuel into the...

    New grease gun recommendations please.

I think most guns are fine. I use some old Alemites and a newer Mcnaught. Whats more important is to use a good tip. I like the Mcnaught tip much better than the older tips.
