    Looking for some "machine advice"

A VFD is a good option, my son has a small shop with a mill, lathe and grinder and uses those. Since that sort of thing is his line of work so it was easy for him. Since Run with Scissors has time to weigh the options he would do well to research VFD's along with static, rotary and homemade...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

Usually the higher horsepower machines are 3 phase but any can be. I run my home and shop on a 200 amp service without issue. Even a 100 amp can work if you watch what the loads are. When selecting a phase converter know that many static converters provide little power on the manufactured...

    Those flippin' flippers

Around here the Amish buy almost anything regardless of price. Condition of electrical, plumbing and most anything doesn't matter. They are reproducing so fast and want real estate for their offspring. Next door is a 5 acre property that had a nice house and an old field stone house that was...

    Those flippin' flippers

My grandson had a real estate agent finding him a home and most were offered by flippers. He asked me to go along to evaluate the properties and I couldn't believe the junk out there. His wife got real pissed at me since I found all kinds of issues but she just wanted a home. Well they got...

L3800 - Cranking but will not turn over and start

Turn, turn over and cranking is all the same thing. While doing that it will fire or not. If it appears to only fire while the key is in the start position you might have an electrical issue.

Fixing hole in side of block

He could add the correct amount of oil to the pan and then turn the engine upside down for a few seconds to lubricate everything.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Those miserable things have destroyed a large percentage of my cheery and locust trees. You don't know how bad the destruction is till a tree breaks or fungus breaks out. Locust is great firewood but it is near worthless after the ants start the rot inside. Just a week ago a cheery tree that...

When I bought a heat pump the dealer asked me if I want the Goodman or the Amana nameplate. Ask about warranty, depending on what the unit identifies as the warranty may be different. He handed me the Amana plate and threw in a high efficiency decal which really helped reduce energy cost.

ICE! Wintertime Shady Section of Driveway

Any coal burning power plants in the area where you might be able to get some cinders? Years ago cinders were used on the roads in my area but they didn't rust out the cars fast enough so now salt is used heavily. Cinders can be dark in color and provides good traction.

    Why?

I went thru my box of gloves last week, I need 4 lefts and two rights to complete my inventory. Dropping sockets has a benefit, it will show you the exact center of a table or machine.

Is the diesel tank metal or stainless steel?

I have never seen stainless rot away like that. See if a magnet sticks to it, some grades of stainless will not attract a magnet.
