Is There An Advantage To Getting A Factory Third Function?

Good point. With todays design and manufacturing abilities 7 years is way too short to expect new products. From the Land Pride website. " Land Pride 3rd Function Valves are designed in conjunction with Kubota engineering to fit both ROPS and cab models. " Furthermore as far as I can see they...

    Save Super UDT2 fluid question

How long til your next transmission service? You can save fluid by draining it too, just clean the drain plug area and the drain pan first.

Is There An Advantage To Getting A Factory Third Function?

Finally installed this this weekend. As far as being an "OEM" kit (Land Pride is owned by Kubota) and paying close to double what an aftermarket kit like the Summit one, I'm not very impressed. From my limited understanding/searches there are basically 3 options. The Kubota diverter valve kit...

How Much Fluid Will I Need To Add A Third Function And Attachment?

For anyone searching this down the road It takes almost a full quart. Before installing the level was 1/16" to 1/8" above the full line on the dipstick. After installation (Land Pride third function and SA10 PHD) and running the level was below the bottom of the dipstick. I added about 5/8 of a...

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

Fair enough. You're right, I didn't think the whole thing through. I'll have to take a closer look when I have a minute. For the record, I can't drop my backhoe stabilizers or bucket while the engine is running. Don't have the space.

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

My problem in that particular case is leaving the pressure in the lines. Which I already had an easy solution to. The original "problem" was that It was posted to drain the pressure in the lines with the machine running. I pointed out that you can't drain the pressure in the lines with the...

Post Hole Auger, Once Piece At A Time

Kubota is calling the size of the fittings I'm missing 9/16. These fittings fit a 3/8 AKA #6 line. Usually when referencing a certain size fitting the size of the line is used. EG a 3/8 line would use a 3/8 (or #6 in this case) fitting, not a 9/16 fitting. THAT is the Kubota speak I was...

I have more to add to this, ran out of time tonight.

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

That's all well and good; I don't have the space in the garage to extend everything to dump the pressure. Turning the tractor off and jiggling the valves takes less than 30 seconds and solves the problem.

    BX23S 50 Hour Service

Did my service a few days ago. I thought I'd post up what I did. It's not rocket science. Some stuff I didn't think about beforehand. Maybe the next new owner of one will benefit. I spent the money on good stuff. Owners manual says replace engine oil/filter and transmission filter only. Repair...

Post Hole Auger, Once Piece At A Time

I don't know whether to be impressed they thought my order was their most important or horrified they couldn't even get their most important order right. Some of the small stuff in the kit. I'm missing both of item # 20. I also learned a 9/16 JIC fitting in Kubota speak is actually a 3/8...

Post Hole Auger, Once Piece At A Time

Yeah, that's a good idea. Unfortunately already done. I'm past 60 hours since it's the very first service and I don't know how long the tractor (and oil in it) was sitting on the dealer lot I wanted it out. It's obnoxiously expensive. Irritates me to be honest. But I've learned the least...

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

I don't need a gauge to tell me there's enough pressure to hold the implement up for weeks to months if it's not bled. Exactly how much I'm not worried about. I also know if I want to bleed the pressure I can't do it with the tractor running; I have to wait 'til after I turn it off. Which was my...

Post Hole Auger, Once Piece At A Time

Got my augers in. And found out I'm missing 2 pieces in my third function kit. Land Pride is sending me them via the dealer, which I then have to pick up. Was hoping to post pictures but don't have time tonite.

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

Yeah, not sure what i what I was thinking there. Definitely wrong. I did think this one through. :) Some work circuits that were used when the tractor was running can't be relieved with the engine (and pump) still running. Unless of course you actuate the opposite circuit. But then you have...

8 Best Storage Practices for Tractor & Excavator Hydraulic Systems During Winter

I don't know about anyone else, but my tractor still has pressure at idle. I have to turn the engine off and THEN relieve the pressure (which I do every time I turn the machine off). And if you retract one cylinder it usually means you're extending another. *Not sure what I was thinking here...

    Check your tire pressure!

I just learned this now! Great info! Good to know. Doing my 50 hour service the other day made me realize how much harder it is to manhandle a tire full of that stuff. Using it definitely has ramifications I didn't think of....

BX2755HD gear oil fill plug is seized. 11mm bolt, rusted solid. Used blower I dont think the gear oil was ever serviced

Heat and crayons (or canning wax) work wonders. Tough thing with that is you want to heat the hole. Harder to do on a big chunk. Plus you don't want to damage seals.
