    B7500 Fuel Tank Removal

IIRC you have to pull the dash back a little bit to get access to the bolts holding the tank to the orange steel cowl.

    B7500 Fuel Tank Removal

It was not terrible but was a lot more than I expected. If I went in thinking it was a lot of work then I might have thought nothing of it. The only thing on the "dash" I had to remove was the throttle lever and had to drive the roll pin out.

    B7500 Fuel Tank Removal

I have it all assembled and it ran great under power for 45 minutes so far. Crossing fingers that cap blocking fuel flow was the issue.

    B7500 Fuel Tank Removal

I removed (ish) the tank except the fuel sending wires. It was enough to turn it upside down and drop the vent cap. What a project. It was pretty dirty under there after 21 years so I vacuumed the heavy stuff, taped up the fuel inlets, blew most of it off with an air gun and wiped it down with a...

    B7500 Fuel Tank Removal

I dropped a plastic fuel can vent cap down in my B7500 tank about two months ago. Initially I tried to fish it out with a wire with hook bent on the end and no luck. It has ran fine with several tanks of fuel through it until yesterday. It started sputtering, no power, very low idle and die...

    S&R 3 point chipper

The guy sold it before I could look at it. He was asking $700 which I thought was pretty reasonable for a nice condition chipper like this but also considering the manufacturer is out of business. In my research I did find that they made these chippers from about 1994-1998. They also made what...

Jerky hydraulics when lowering boom only.

I was using my MX a few weeks ago and the loader started getting jerky and weak. The brush hog was on there and I had it lifted all the way up. After a while I remembered this thread and dropped the 3 point hitch just a tiny bit and sure enough the loader worked great after that! Now I would...

    S&R 3 point chipper

I saw for sale a pretty decent looking S&R 3 point chipper (1846P) and can't find much info about them on the innerwebs. It looks like the company was out of Oregon but is out of business now. This is the 18" model that can handle 4" diameter "logs". The guy has the owner's manual and says the...

Jerky hydraulics when lowering boom only.

This is exactly what my MX5100 did the other day moving about 20 tons of #2 limestone. Did you ever figure it out? While looking for a thread here with my issue I did see that similar issues were resolved by moving the 3PH down a tiny bit from fully raised. I'll try that today or tomorrow when I...

    Are these wheels salvageable?

2001 B7500 bought in 2008 with calcium chloride in both front and rear tires. Of course hindsight is always 2020 but I really should have removed it when I bought the tractor back then. The rear wheels are starting to look really bad. Also the rear tires are out of round and is really noticeable...

    Tractorless! Help!

What model? From what I understand the Grand models have the electronic hydrostat controls and they have all kinds of neat features. This one is all mechanical.

    Tractorless! Help!

And another thing. Without the cruise control this thing would be terrible with that really light hydro pedal. The rough fields just make it hop up and down so much more until you get the cruise set. After 5 hours of mowing I still hate that design and I doubt I'll ever really get used to it. It...

    Tractorless! Help!

I really think this machine needs the tires ballasted. You really can't use the loader in two wheel drive. Is there a place you can get a heavier than washer fluid or methanol/water mix and do it yourself? The Rim Guard just seems kinda crazy priced at $700 ish dollars for just the rears but...

    Tractorless! Help!

Someday I would like to upgrade the seat on this MX. The John Deere 1025R I was using had a very nice seat but I'm guessing this one is not made to sit in all day. Is there a nice aftermarket seat that is comfortable enough for all day?

    Tractorless! Help!

After mowing with the tractor for about five hours I now realize she is thirsty. It's really not surprising but it appears it is using over two gallons per hour. No big deal except is $3.70/gallon but the real issue is getting fuel into it. With the loader on the arms are really in the way...

    7000 lb trailers

I measured my MX5100/loader/72" Land pride hog yesterday and was a little short of 25' from the front of the bucket to the end of the tail wheel. Most people would overhang the hog but if you wanted it all on a flat deck and correctly weight loaded then that would be a really long trailer.

    7000 lb trailers

Are they using those portable weight scales?

    7000 lb trailers

After looking it up I remember now that there is a federal law requiring a class A CDL for trailers over 10K lbs IF your total combined gross vehicle weight rating is over 26K lbs. I should check all my axle weights and such on my truck before buying a trailer. It is 10K GVW but that is only...

    7000 lb trailers

I think each state is a little different but I believe you are correct about it being for commercial use. In Ohio you don't need a CDL for a 30,000 lb RV with air brakes so trailers probably fall under the same "personal use" rule.

    7000 lb trailers

If your tractor is an open station ROPS without tire ballast then you are probably looking at about 6,000 lbs with loader and hog. With tire ballast you will be more like 7,200 or so. I'm guessing that you will need a 24' long deck to load that with correct tongue weight. Those trailers are at...
