Im having major problems finding the exact matching parts. My hood clearly says L2850 [DT], but the used axle& axle flange parts are too big and wont work. I was told by a used part supplier, that my model # was incorrect.
The aluminum ID plate is missing. All i can go on is:
a. motor # found near exhaust pipe: K2-B
b. right side of tranny #L2850-53434 [some times hard to tell if it is 3 or 8]
c. front left axle facing front found : KT2 5Z10
d. right side dash case: 4RM
e. quick connect front loader: BF500 KUBOTA
f. Hood: 2850
Im a 100% disabled vet & depend on this puppy to do everything around my 3 acres up in the Santa Cruz redwoods....85.5 years old....any assistance greatly appreciated, thanks for looking, Jerbo
wish i could post photos....

The correct Kubota part #'s for an L2850DT are:
FLANGE AXLE - 32430-44110
AXLE - 32430-43960

These are still available so you should be able to search based on those numbers.
If you got those part numbers and they don't fit hopefully other members here will chime in and help out.

You need to have something like five posts before you can post pictures here.

It sounds like either you miss-identified the tractor or the used-parts supplier misidentified the part.

I would probably determine which it was before I went further in attempting to find or buy a replacement part.

Since your tractor is probably over 35 years old, is there any chance that the hood with the number on it could’ve been replaced at some point in the past, and actually that the tractor itself is a different model?

Could you have made a typo when you inquired about the part needed, so that the supplier actually sent you the part for a different model than you intended?

Just a couple of thoughts… Hope you get your tractor back in operating condition ASAP!

Thanks very much.
After a used parts place sent me 4 axles, after after the 4th time, i realized that the part # i used matched the model #L2850 on the hood, but the parts were larger than what i pulled off the tractor. at that point i realized that more than likely as you suggested the hood model # did not match the parts i had or the parts sent to me were all too big. Trying to exactly id just what i have is a bit more of a challenge. Right side of tranny shows l2850D-58434; engine # near exhaust pipe shows K21B; front axle on let front says KT2 5Z10...
On the side of the dash housing is 4RM; front loader/bucket has BF500. Where else would good model # be found? Thanks for your suggestions and help,. I now assume my tractor must be a smaller model...but the tranny # confounds me! Just where & what is the mdel # continues to be a mystery..... jerbo

Thanks. Yes, exactly the diagram i used based on hood model #. None of the flange axle & axle used parts that came in fit. both too big & didnt match what i pulled of my tractor...meaning i dont have the right model # to search for matching parts. Just where on the tractor is the dependable model # found?? Anyone else come up against this kind of problem? Who actually knows how to determine model # in this world ?? Someone said : "ask the dealer"....thanks jerbo

The stamping on the side of your transmission shows it is an L2850, the serial number of your tractor is the 53434.
Mine is a 1987 (539XX).
If your tractor looks like this, the part numbers and diagram AB posted are correct, and your parts supplier is suspect. IMG_8428.jpeg

Hi, yes that photo is the exact one i have! Thanks for that info.

Hi and thanks. I ordered 2 parts from Wengers, in Myerstown. Also from PARTS ASAP, both sent me parts too large to fit !
Im frustrated that these 2 places sent me the parts matching the diagram blow up for L2850 FRONT AXLE & WHEEL...

Since i dont know how to get the correct parts & I paid $10k for this some 8 years ago, im thinking of just getting L2150 for around $11500....i dont know what else to do. Actually had the front left axle leak repaired a few years ago at local K dealer, who charged me a fortune, it began leaking again after a month, so they would not fix it without charging me. Since they do lousy work for sky high prices i hoped to just find the broken parts & get a local tractor guy to help assemble & put together. Since the flange axle & axle replacement parts are too big. i cant get used part people to send correct fitting replacement parts... im stuck right there ! If i cant find parts, seems like im hitting a dead end & might as well get a newer model that has replacement parts easily found. Though i love my L2850 & spent a lot to get new pto hydraulics installed how can o go forward? Im an 85 year old 100% disabled vet and cant get along with out a tractor to do what i cant do...thanks for you contribution to good info...where are u located??
thanks again, jerbo

@jerbo

The front axle could be from some other tractor model or perhaps Kubota changed the size of the axle after some years of production of that model.

I suggest that you contact a member here (Lance) @007kubotaguy that may have the required knowledge and parts to help you out. He may have a complete axle to replace the mystery axle or be able to provide just parts for the mystery axle if you can provide some dimensions of the parts.

Contact his company here (they are “close” to you (in Texas and California terms near the San Francisco area (north east of there?)).

I'm out of ideas.

I tried reverse phycology and looked up the BF500 loader.
Seems to fit 3 tractors according to Kubota Illustrated Parts.
The front axle for the L2850L is totally different.
The L2850DT and L2850DT-GST both use the same part numbers as given above.
I am at a loss as to why your front axle is different.

ps...ok thanks, what is L2850L ?? my machine is clearly 4 x 4; transmission also says 2850....i wonder what other axle could fit L2850 dt to replace correct one. clearly mine has smaller diameter axle than parts sent to me that had axle shaft much more than my 1 1/8 inch diameter...ditto for flange axle housing..its center hole also too big for mine....ideas how to find out what i have so i can replace broken parts? thanks jerbo

While the picture of the loader are great, they really don't help us, help you identify the axle.

Give us a pictures of the whole axle, several angles.

And Bee miswrote it's a L2850F (2wd)

@North Idaho Wolfman asked for pictures of the actual axle and the cases for the front wheel drive. He may be able to help identify the front axle if you will provide pictures looking at the actual axle looking from the middle of the tractor towards the front wheels. Camera should be like from where you might be laying if you are changing the engine oil. Your Front End Loader (FEL) is blocking the view ov the axle in that front view you posted, and the others are too close and just showing casting numbers that don’t mean too much (as far as I know).
