M5660 Hour Meter

Is there an easy way to increase the hours with out the engine running ?. The meter is digital

easy ?

remove from tractor,sit on bench, power it up, apply appropriate signal to the 'engine is running' input lead of the meter.
would need to see wiring diagram to figure out WHAT that signal is.
another option, if meter has CANbus interface(actually ANY communications interface) , access the 'hours' register and rewrite whatever time you want in it.

both of these are 'easy' for me....

Probably put 12 volts on the correct terminals and it might start counting. Might need a circuit diagram to find the correct points.

If M5660 is the tractor ( and not the hour meter designation..) that unit has a 'fancy' dash where the 'hour meter' displays lots of 'stuff' but providing you get a wiring diagram for it ( in WSM ??) it's easy to change the hours.

Just curious, why would you want to increase the hours on the meter without the engine running (unless the meter was replaced)?

I ordered a WSM today to hopefully get a wiring diagram. Thanks for all the great input and any more. My farm size has decreased and i have to meet a total hour obligation . I would like to do this with out burning over priced diesel.
