I have heard of guys using irish spring bar soap as a deterrent for small rodents like mice. Not sure if it would work for squirrels. I use a squirlanator at home in socal and have good luck with trapping them but if your not on the property it might be an issue on getting them out of the trap.
My next suggestion would be using a solar powered electric hot wire fence. Maybe use wire mesh to close up the holes somehow
