Lost the "horseshoe & pin" assembly for the check chains to my l3901 three point hitch. See circle in attached photo. Rookie mistake first time i attached it and i didn't bend back the cotter pins.

Anyway...

The local dealership says i have to buy the whole assembly (parts 20, 60,70 and80)

Pins and cotter pins are easy to come by but does anyone know a source for the horseshoe piece? Also, what's it actually called?

Otherwise I'm out a hundred bucks and have to buy more than i actually need.

Also, how bad is it if i use my box blade without the check chains attached? I suppose i already have a bit today but it seems it's just for stability, which is not so important for a box blade?

up here we call #20 turnbuckle end fittings. the other clevis.
very important to prevent tire damage. could get expensive quick if you don't use.
probable cheaper to get local fab shop to make #20 as I have only ever seen that shape on my L3301. replacement clevis should be able to find suitable at local farm supply shop.

The part you lost is called a "clevis". Should be available at most any hardware store. What you can purchase at a hardware or home center may not be as strong as the Kubota product. Maybe a supply store that specialized in chains and rigging.

When I have seen similar numbers and then one number on Kubota illustrated parts list you should be able to get the individual part like number 20 is possibly what you need

Have you looked at those websites to find the part number and then search the web with those part numbers to see cost?
