Anyone Know What This is?

So my GF found this tool in a junk pile on her property in the U.P.
Asked me what it was, but I have no idea. Since it was found in a junk pile on what was a farm years ago, I though it was maybe a tool used in butchering or maybe iron working.

Any old farm hands recognize it?

Nose pliers. Goes in the bull/cow nostrils to hold them. I had to help my dad work on the livestock using those things. Many stressful days.

The best way I know of to deal with a bull is a stock prod with new batteries. Not that I have one, my cattle don't need freshened.

Have some not-so-fond memories of those. We used them, when needed, on first calf heifers for their first lactation/milking.

Had one cow that just hated that Milker....seems like she had those in her nose twice a day for months

Still remember her name, Big Red. Guess what color she was...all black... Maybe that’s what made her grumpy.
