Almost three years later here is what has happened. The double clutching thing is more of a memory. I do still have to double clutch every one in a while but for the most part it's done with. Makes me think there is some manufacturing burrs that need to be worn off. Or I killed the gremlin...

@#40Fan was right. I finally got to use the tractor for more than a minute. When I removed the towel it was clean on the fitting side.

OK, a mini update. I wiped the area down and then wrapped a light blue shop towel around the fitting and hose. I'll use the tractor for a bit then check to see if the towel is clean on the inside.

Some other stuff has interfered with me going out and satisfying my curiosity about what's going on. Weather being the biggest part. Got some stuff rolling in now. As soon as I can get out there and fiddle with it, I'll let you know.

I am much less concerned about what might be going on now.

But it will spray. That was my concern.

    B2401 Hydraulic Leak

It is. It would explain why I saw it on the bucket first. But as suggested by @TheOldHokie, Dan, I'll also check to make sure they're secure. Thank you everyone. I'm beginning to feel more and more confident I can deal with this.

Let's see if I can upload these. The other side is perfectly clean. I first noticed discoloration on the bucket but it's only become more apparent something is not quite right.

I was hoping that would be the case. Now to figure out which one is doing it. I think there's two right next to each other.

It's dark now. I knew I should have taken a pic to make what I'm describing clear but I was too lazy to get my phone. I'll remedy that in the morning.

I can't tell. I'm guessing the fitting itself. I wrapped it in a light colored towel to see if I found that it might be coming from the hose but it was clean. That's why I think it's the fitting.

One of the hydraulic hoses is leaking at the bucket. Question, replace the hose and fitting? Anything a 72 year old woman should know before tackling a replacement if that's needed?

Thanks for that info. I'll contact them today. Belt isn't off anymore. I've checked all of the other pulleys and it's in place. What I don't like the feel of is how loose the belt is at rest. So, something is not right somewhere and now I do have more serious concerns about what it is.

Don't recognize that tractor? It's because it's a Kubota zero turn gas powered. Any way, I spun the belt. Found a chunk of grape vine in the rear pulley. Put the belt back, engaged the blades and they are still dead. Any addicted Kubota owners have a zero turn that might know where I should...

I did see that video about the hood latch. I don't think I'll be manufacturing anything like that to fix the latch issue.
