That's what I assumed, but thought that sure is a small margin of measurement in the stick. From off the stick to full is about a quarter inch.

Try jumping the solenoid. Put a screwdriver across the two terminals on the solenoid. Yes it will spark... that is normal. See of you still have the same click with no turnover. If it cranks each time, then you have a very well know problem of voltage drop in the wire going from the key...

I think I might need a new HST in my B2400. $4K new and $2K from the salvage I called. I see someone locally parting out a B21. My B2400 has a two speed and the B21 is a 3 speed. Very close in production years. ANY chance the B21 HST would fit in the B2400?

I edited my original post to take word "junk" out of my thread title and replaced is with "misleading". Traveller may be fine for hydraulics, but it is not a replacement for Kubota HST oil like is says on the jug.

OK. I checked the other side of the engine. For sure cannot have the timing mark on that side of the engine. Cannot see the flywheel or "rear end plate" due to starter in the way. The attached pic (Pic2) is a pic of the other side. I think all will agree that is not the side for the timing...

Well... all is fixed now. The exciter module inside the distributor was in fact the problem. Thank you all for your input. It ended up being cheaper to buy an entire distributor that it was for just the module. So $368 to fix. Pic of the old attached.

So from testing and not finding any protection circuits shutting off the ignition, I am 99% sure the Ignitor is the problem. I was able to order an entire distributor with ignitor installed along wit new rotor and cap for about $100 less than the Ignitor alone. $336 for Kubota OEM distributor...
