Not really familiar with GM products but I thought I've seen AFM deactivation devices that simply plug into the ODBII port. There may be other shortcuts (like putting in tow/haul mode). I wish I knew of a method for deleting Hemi MDS on my wife's new ride. I know that there are delete kits but...
