Do a Google search for soy wires mice and click on images, you will see plenty of wire damage.

Every year we chase chewed up wires in the rides that squirrels and mice eat up. Zero soy based coverings and most are shielded. They chew the cover, shielding and the wires. They are rodents they chew stuff. It's just nature.

Ive seen birds build a nest on the leaf spring of a truck that got used daily! Amazing the amount of damage they can cause building nests in the wrong place. I guess you had no insurance? Lucky it didnt burn to the ground!

We have a robin here being very pesky. Insists the top of my garage door motor is his to nest on. I chase it out, tear it down and even if I am in there working that damn bird tries again and again.

Ok I obtained my new $250 plus 41mpp1-3 sensor from MESSICK online. Did a quick part search to find out if I had the part number (melted) it would have cost me $45. So do your homework!
Now I need a 3 pin plug that will fit. That way I don't get ripped off again for $1200.
Cant find part number for it. Not in book. Any help would be apprecitated.
I have no proof, but I strongly suspect that the $45 part may have the correct part number and look like the $250 unit, but that is where the equality ends.

I've been down that road with sensors on cars. Out of twelve or more times I bought the 'identical' item for 25% of the OE unit price, I wasn't burned on the deal only once. You get what you pay for, if you are lucky.

my barn cats do a great job at S&D (seek & destroy)!
most county shelters have programs for rescuing feral/barn cats and rehoming. they also offer spay and neuter services cheap.
dont need to worry bout hawks, dogs, coyotes, coons, etc.. feral cats can fend for themselves. wouldn't give you 2 cents for a domestic cat... but a barn cat will earn his keep!

Here the main problem is starlings. I've had them build nests in the battery box of my old John Deere, just a small opening where the battery cable comes through. And twice I've had to remove starling nests from the engine compartment of my Dodge/Cummins. One was easy - on top of the fuse box. The other one was in between the radiator and intercooler and it was a son of a gun to clean out.

That connector looks like a deutch style connector and is fairly common for autos. You can reorder connectors on line. The issue is the specific tool for crimping the pins to the wires and then installing inside the connector is stupid expensive. There are cheap copies/sets available but buy a couple if you do this. The cheap pin tool will typically only do a couple before you need to buy more to continue.

Was walking my dogs one evening and came around the corner down near my tool shed....to see my Scag Zero Turn mower completely engulfed in fire! Had already gotten to the fuel tanks (with 10 gallons of gas), no way to put it out.

It is thought that mice chewed a wire and caused a dead short.

Yes, covered under unscheduled personal property.

And they were actually fair about it.
That is nice to hear!
I had a similar very fair result (with USAA) many years ago, on a much larger loss.
