Looking at going to a hydraulic top link on the M7040. Problem is, the M7040 link is a Cat 1/2. I’m thinking of going to a knuckle end on the tractor side and just buying a Cat 2 link and using an adapter to go up from the 3/4 to 1 Inch knuckle hole.

Any issues with using a knuckle end? Fit-Rite has a 32 week lead time right now and I need to go ahead and find a good alternative. I would like to have the beefier Cat 2 cylinder for box blade work. If I go with a Cat 1, I would at least want a beefier cycling to avoid overpowering it when backing up.

MtnViewRanch, Are you talking about grinding the width of the base end or the outside edge. I already use the bushings for my Cat 1 implements so that’s no problem.

Also my OEM top link can flip and use either end on the tractor. I just have to use a bushing on the tractor end to go from 3/4 to 1 inch. I ground a bushing today so that it would fit inside the tractor mount to check to see if I could use a Cat 2 end in there with no interference.

Thanks for the help. The top link you sent looks like a beefy unit.

Ok. Didn’t know it was that wide on the hydraulic link. Thanks, again for the help.

Thanks. My OEM slides in with room to spare. I like the top link you sent. The OEM has a 10” travel where the hydraulic one has an 8-1/4. I can’t think of anything I’m hooking up that will be an issue with 8“. Only a couple of times with a cultivator have I had to get out all the way because of how it tend to tilt back when off the tractor.
