Looking for some real user reviews...
How are they performing in snow this winter compared to other options?
Anyone switched from R1 and regretted it?

Wow, Goodyear has done a poor job marketing these tires. They've been out for almost a year now and not a single reply. Even Google can't bring up anything worthy beyond Messicks videos.

My Front R4 tires are getting plenty of wear and tear - I assume that I can replace them with R14's (as long as they are the same size), Correct??
You will have to get the RC (rolling circumference) of the tires you have now and compare that to the RC of the new tires. ;)

I see that Titan tire has a very close looking to the Goodyear R14. Available in bias or radial. No experience personally with either one.

We had this discussion previously when I asked about tires for my BX, and last week when I was at the Kubota dealer parts counter, I asked about that specific subject. I was told that as long as you replace all 4 tires with the newer sized tires that Kubota is selling on their new machine that there is no issue. When it comes to the newer version of the BX front tires, the new 10" rim is a direct replacement for the 8" rim, and the rear tire size remains the same. Was told that there was a change in the front axle that required the larger diameter rim, and that it was backward compatible with all BX series tractors, except the BX1500.
I don't know if Kubota is going to be equipping the new BX tractors with the new R14 tires, however, I did see the size listed on the chart. It is available in 26x12-12", however, 18x8.5-8" (oem) isn't. The 18x8.5-10" is available in the R14 tire.

Just a touch better than R4s on wet grass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtvBPoUbcOA

I'd really like to know how they are doing in the snow. I wish goodyear would have given some samples to some ordinary folks to review. Doesn't seem like many people have opted for them or there would likely be more responses to this thread.

We have a B2601 with R14 tires/BX2822A frontmount snowblower/land pride back blade. We have about 225 yards in length of asphalt driveway. The last 50 yards that connect to the county road have about a 8% uphill grade. Snow wise the R14s worked very well, no traction problems and we had quite a winter here in the PNW...over 100" of snow in Jan, plus lots of rain, and and the resulting ice. 2 wheel drive worked fine most of the time on the flat bits, and 4x4 was fine on the hill and during slippery times.

I do not have a point of comparison as this is our first tractor. However I think the R14's are really good in the snow

Thanks for your input. I'm guessing if you had a plow on the front you'd have to use chains? Have you done any field work with them? If so, did they cake up with mud, or slip much?

I am not sure if I would have needed chains if I used the FEL to plow rather than a front mount blower. I think no chairs would work fine, depending on how much snow is being pushed and the grade.

My sense is that the R14's perform better in the snow than Agricultural Tires (R1) or Industrial Tires (R4), some in my area like Turf Tires (R3) for snow. The R14 tread has more segments than R1 or R4 tires and this provides more grip points on packed snow/ice (Turf tires offer similar advantage, however the tread may get overwhelmed with snow an plug up)

We have not done any field/dirt work with the tractor (candidly the machine is really only for snow-removal and some light FEL mulch/gravel moving in non-winter)

On the KB website, you can factory build a B with R14's but not a BX.

If I upgrade to a B (currently have a BX), I would also get the R14's. Looks like a great design for non-ag related chores with a CUT.

Hi All,

Picking up a new B2650 Saturday. After much debate I got a hold of the factory rep for Titian who handles Kubota. He said after a lot of testing Kubota thinks the R14 are the best all around tire (take it with a grain of salt) Here is a data sheet he sent me. Sorry for the size but I could not upload the .pdf file. Had to take a couple of screen shots

So it looks like no size option to put onto a 2650.... That seems odd....

Just spoke with my dealer and there is an R14 option for the B2650. They are not using the standard turf or R4 sizes. Front is a 23 8.5 12 and I don***8217;t recall what the rears were.

Second ETA: Looks like its the tire and wheel size used on the 2601.

$13xx through wholegoods.

ETA: I ended up ordering them. I don't need turf tires anymore an in fact, the fronts aren't really designed for loader work.
