Hi Guys

I have a BX25D and I'm finding that a bigger tractor with more power would be better. We have an alpaca farm and I use the tractor a lot. I mow 1.5 acres every week. Use the loader to move alpaca poop, plow snow in the winter and use the backhoe when ever needed. I also have forks for the loader bucket. I always seem to be just short on enough power to get some of the jobs done. The boss (My wife) agrees that a bigger tractor would be a good idea. Looking for some advice as to what my next tractor should be.

Thanks for you thoughts.

Re: Ugrade from BX25D

If you want the mid PTO you need to stick with the B series. I checked the B26 TLB. It does not have the mid mount mower option when selecting options.

So maybe B2650 with the backhoe and subframe and mid mount mower or B2601.

Re: Ugrade from BX25D

I just went through comparisons for buying my first tractor.
I am purchasing the L2501 later this week.
The currently have rebates that can put you in this tractor for almost the same price as the B series. But you have a tractor with more flexibility.
Do you need the belly mount mower? That is an issue with the L series since it does not have the mid-pto.

I mow about 3-4 acres, have a driveway to maintain and a yard which needs some maintenance. I feel the L2501 will take care of my needs well.

I don't need the belly mount mower. It is nice to have as a backup to our zero turn mower if it ever broke. I could remove the backhoe and loader and the house yard

Re: Ugrade from BX25D

If you do need the MMM, the 72 inch deck while expensive is well suited to the B2650. It makes for easier mowing around trees and obstacles. I moved up from a BX 2200 recently. The B2650 handles more 3 point and fel weight with better ground clearance even with the MMM left on compared to the BX series.
I suspect it would handle your chores much easier than the BX25.

Next question is whether you want the cab model? That alone I could be a reason to go with the B2650.
