With a heavy item like the tiller on the 3-point, it will drop overnight. It's a very slow decent, can't see it but can notice a change over an hour or so.

My neighbors JD drops too, over time. And it's much newer than my rig.

Is this something we just live with or is a repair indicated.

I'm not really troubled by this, but perhaps I should consider a fix.

Roll Maybe they all do this?

The knob below seat to slow the descent of three point arms also serves as a lock. Can check by closing that valve and see if it holds, but i would expect it to still drop over time.
If its dropping while you are standing there watching, i would say there is a problemo.
The other question you should ask is if its ok to leave a load on 3 point overnight. I would say no..
I never do.

It's the rings on the 3 point piston, they need replacing.
I don't like when they drop, ever.
Now for the "Safety Police" side of me.
Equipment and FEL's should always be stored and left on the ground!
You should NEVER leave an implement up anytime you leave the tractor, all it takes is one time for a kid, grand kid, dumb neighbor, you, and a slipped step or move, wife, brother in law ..on and on.., To hit the lever at the wrong time and injure themselves or someone else. ;)

For a couple years, theres a guy that leaves his loader bucket up in the air all the time. Like,6 feet. Makes me crazy. This past winter its been down every time i drive past. Guess someone pointed out his bad habit.

First for the good advice. I get it, not a good idea to leave weight and mass, hanging in midair. Recipe for a disaster and I'm not a big fan of disasters.

Second, I'm inclined to leave it alone. But... I do have a little ocd. What's involved in replacing the rings?

These are like Piston rings?

Thanks gents,

Now that is a dilemma. Which one will win? :D

They are probably o-rings. I think the o-rings will have backer rings also
