I've drained the coolant from the radiator I opened the petcock then removed it and took the cap off. I believe I got most of the coolant out.

However, I can't seem to find a way to drain the overflow container.

It isn't mentioned in the servicing dialogue except during the refilling operation. If I have to remove the overflow container, I think I'll just let that bit go. What I drained out looked very fresh to me so this might have been wasted time and money anyway.

Next go-round just leave rad cap on, as rad drains it will draw fluid out. Once empty pop rad cap. Suction gun will get it out. A section of hose long enough to get below and siphon it out. If tank has a bottom fitting, disconnect and gravity drain

You can use a wet vac and a smaller hose.
Or get 4'+ gose.
Fill it with water at the faucet and while holding one end closed put the other end in to empty.

I made a jug with two hoses coming out, one to shop vac and one for draining what ever you didnt want in vacum. Not gasoline or anything flammable!
Used it for cleaning valley area when doing intake manifolds on gm engines.

Neighbour dropped by the other day, looking a little shook up.
Cut off the fuel line on his 69 dart to install a fuel filter. To clean up the filings, decided to vacuum them out of the line. So,shop vac started spewing fire, gas siphoning from gas tank and theres a puddle forming on floor and hes covered in gas too. Cant open overhead door because car is on his hoist. No fire extinguisher. Dragged by cord through walk in door and tossed it in snowbank.
Ya, i said dont do that....

I have three extinguishers in my shop. I check them periodically, turn upside down and thump with mallet. Loosens dry compound so it will flow.
