It is funny, when I owned it I never thought of it that way. At the time I saw the nameplate said, "Made in Japan". Must be John Deere's way of buying into the market place. Tractor=made in Japan, Roto-tiller=made in Italy, Mower and Loader=made in USA. All branded "John Deere".

That's interesting, I bet most of it depends on the application. The yanmar diesel in my wood splitter, came out of a 3" trash pump, was assembled by La'borde in Louisiana.

My John Deere engines in my larger water pumps at work, were assembled in Jonesboro Arkansas. But then again, it depends on the specs, and application ;)

Now look at where the parts were manufactured and it's all over the place, from Mexico, Taiwan, Czech Republic, and other foreign countries.

At one time I did some work at the Ford Claycomo Plant. That is where Ford makes the F150 and a couple of other vehicles.

In the Spring there is a line up of tractors, from small yard mowers up to 50 or so HP. All lined up for the employee inspection and purchase. In those days you didn't drive a foreign vehicle on their parking area...they had 5,000 employees, and if one was found they would put it on it's side, key it, break glass or whatever struck them that day. They were PRO UNION and openly expressed it.

I remember getting into a conversation with a group who was outside admiring all the Ford tractors. I asked them, "What does that label say?" The conversation got very interesting!! At that time no diesel engines were manufactured in the USA under 40 HP.

I think Shibara engines were use, and they were not UNION...but those guys sure thought that gray and blue tractor was nice!

I did ask them if they were going to be removed from the area!

Its an international marketplace out there.

A few don't know: The grey parts (engine/drivetrain/rear end) of new Kubotas come from Japan on a pallet. All the orange bits are made here in the US and assembled to the gray core.

My 1974 FORD F-1700 was made in Japan... every bit except the FEL.

I was just cruising around the OTT forums and had a pop up ad for Yanmar Tractors show up. Go figure!
Strange. All I'm seeing are these pesky bikini ads.

Adds that show up, usually represent the cookies stored on the computer. Did a Google search for property, and the majority of adds were for realtor's. Been getting quite a bit of gun adds, after searching for add on's for my wife's pistol, and researching personal protection ammo.

I was getting the bikini adds after my wife used my tablet to search local sales to update her summer wardrobe. Should have never cleared my history :p:D

I'm not actually getting bikini ads; I'm just messing with people.

All those ads that I was getting for Guns, Chewing Tobacco, Clothes for the hard working man isn't my internet profile?

Thanks for bursting my bubble!

P.S. The ad for Fat Tire Beer did bother me a little. :D
