Is there a bolt-on flap cover that will replace a stock Kubota M7060 forward-facing exhaust? I am tired of picking bird nests out of the stock exhaust end. Thanks!

I read about mice chewing wires and birds making nests in exhausts and yet I haven't had this happen to any tractor since buying my first 8 years ago. I've had the M6060 for two years now and nothing bad has happened. Regardless, how about some stainless steel mesh over the end of the exhaust? Or perhaps an owl as a hood ornament! 😂

Couldn't you drop a bucket over the exhaust when you're not using the tractor?

If you put a flapper on have the opening facing the cab (hinge to the front). This way if you get under some small branches the are less likely to snag the cap and rip it off.

Put a disposable drinking cup or an old can over it.

@mcmxi I have a large plastic owl on the garden fence. One day my wife and I were relaxing after setting out tomato plants….have a glass of tea…when we heard a sudden “rattle”….. and a wren flew out of the hole in the bottom of the owl.
The wren had made a Nest inside the owl. 🤣

I swear - those little Carolina Wrens will make a nest in your pocket if you stand still long enough! Old peanut cans laying around in the shed make a perfect place for a nest.

They are amazing birds

Got tired of the soup can on the exhaust thing on our old Farmall about 40 years ago, largely because it had a loader and the top of the stack was about 8’ off the ground so not convenient to access, and put one of those flappers on it. Took about 2 minutes for a 15 year old of kid to install. They work very well and they’re much more convenient than the soup can/bucket thing, particularly on a tractor where you don’t have convenient storage for the cover or the top of the stack isn’t easily reached.
