Hi all,

I have a B2301 with just under 100 hours on it. My old reliable grease gun finally gave up the ghost, so I just got a new one. First time greasing up the loader two of the zerks would not accept grease. I tried adjusting the fitting on the grease gun to no avail.

Can the zerks be pulled out and flushed or cleaned with oil, or is my best bet to go ahead and replace the fittings. Kind of a strange coincidence as I have never had any issues greasing things before and this just started the first time I used the new gun.

Thanks!
Jason

I had the same problem yesterday greasing my ZTR and Grooming Mower. What I usually do is take a small flat tip screwdriver and just press on the ball to break it free. Sometimes my thumbnail works, too. If it still doesn't want to take grease, I remove it and make sure it's not hardened grease inside the zerk by just pumping a squirt through it.

Impact type zerk "cleaners" are available but it's probably easiest to just replace some or all.

Agreed. Buy a zerk fitting assortment kit and just toss out the ones that dont work. Why would you want to force the dirt/crud blocking the zerk directly into your pins and bushings? Penny wise...

I will usually replace mine. However, if I don't have any replacements available, I will "unstick" the ball after I've cleaned it.
