I have decided to buy the L2501HST. One dealer quoted the RCR1860 and another dealer quoted the RCR1260 saying the RCR1860 really needs more HP. The 1860 is only $320 more than the 1260. Will the L2501HST work well with the RCR1860 or is it too big for a 25HP tractor? Less than 2 acres to cut and I am not in a hurry.

I got the 1260 with mine. I haven't used it a lot but it seems to work great. Seems like a quality implement.

The difference between the 1260 and 1860 is the how rugged it is made. The 1260 states that it will handle up to 1" saplings and the 1860 will cut up to 2" saplings. I got the 1860 to clear my overgrown areas. Your tractor will handle both but you will have to go slower with the taller/thicker areas.

I've got the l2501 with the 1860 and it does fine. I've taken down waist tall grass with some mixed in saplings with no issues.
