Had a problem last year where I was using the flail mower fine one afternoon, came back the next day and couldn't get the tractor to start. Figured this one out that the PTO on/off lever was still engaged. It was really stiff and took a lot of effort to disengage. I haven't used in since but went today to put the flail on and I can't get the PTO to engage. The PTO on/off lever doesn't sit flush in the OFF position either, it jumps out and rests in no mans land. When I try to move the lever to the ON position it is really tight and the PTO doesn't engage.
PTO selector works fine and moves between mid/ mid/rear and rear PTO fine, I can tell because I can move the shafts by hand when not engaged. Tractor also starts up when the PTO On/OFF lever is set to ON, but it doesn't feel like the PRO is engaged.
It's the HST model. Is there anything obvious to check before digging further in the WSM? Would it be electrical if the lever isn't even "clicking" into gear?
