Out here in N. CA, my local dealer wants $165 for 5gals of SUDT. I know this is what Kubota calls for and I see many threads where people say to stay with what the manufacture calls for, but at what price? At $165 for the fluid, $40 for the low pressure filter & $77 for the high presure filter = $282!!! Seems like an expensive oil change...
I have a HST 3830.

Your dealer is gouging you, SUDT shouldn't be more than $100.00. (we charge $90.75 at our dealership in Canada.

You probably need closer to 13 gals between the front axle and the trans.

You may want to check with other dealers. It is approx. $105 per 5 gallons in the Atlanta, Ga. area. Can't speak from experience but most everything I read on the subject says you should use the SUDT. I did.

Amsoil full synthetic tractor trans/hyd oil isn't even that high. I would look for a new dealer if it was me.

Wow, eserv! $100 CAD for 5 gal SUDT in Alberta?

The local Kubota dealer in BC wanted that much for 5 gallons of regular UDT.

Since it was for our old L345 (and its not too fussy) I just used Walmart's $39 SuperTech TDH . I'm still deciding what I will use (Kubota UDT, Walmart TDH or other) in our newer L3400 gear tractor.

I'm from No. Cal as well and SUDT is not really necessary in our climate. Loomis is not at an altitude that it would cause that much trouble due to the cold.

One of the Kubota dealers that I use also sells New Holland hydraulic oil and refuses to sell the Kubota oils as being absurdly overpriced. New Holland Ambra works very well in all three of my tractors.

I deal with a local TSC also but would not recommend their "Premium" hydraulic fluid. It caused clutch problems with my M7040, hydraulic problems with the backhoe, and transmission performance issues with the BX2200. Thankfully, they all cleared up with the New Holland oil.

Your dealer may be buying small quantities. Mine keeps SUDT in bulk. Last week it was less than $80-.

Tractor Supply oil that was claimed to match UDT caused problems this winter. It's too heavy for cold climate. The suction screen in our B2400 is very fine. SUDT cleared it up.

Go back to your dealer and ask for super udt2. It is the new oil that is out, it is better, and is actually cheaper. I would stick with the best thing you can find for that model especially if it is an HST.
