Has anyone run Sea Foam motor treatment in a Kubota diesel? I live in Northern Ontario and the winters get pretty cold up here. I received my new BX 1870 last week and it would run for a bit and then quit. Dealership sent one of their techs down and he removed and replaced the fuel and both fuel filters. Runs like a top now. Turns out the dealership has water or bad fuel in their tank. The tech recommended running Sea Foam in the fuel. Any advice, this is my 1st Kubota.

I started using Seafoam and Stabil in all my small gasoline engines along with non-ethanol fuel about 5 years ago. Before that I was rebuilding carburetors and fuel systems every year or so. Can't speak to using it in a diesel engine.

I run Stanadyne in my diesel fuel.

SeaFoam........ gets its name as a product designed initially for Marine diesel engines. Used properly it will be fine for your diesel. I've got no clue if today's formulation is anything like its original forumula. The original had a strong silent following in the marine world from what I've read.

oh...... and search is your friend. We've got several threads on this topic one being as recent as a month or so ago if I recall right.

A "home brew" recipe for Seafoam is 4 parts diesel, 2 parts naphtha and one part IPA (isopropyl alcohol 91%)
