One other thing: Maybe I never noticed before, but when the hydro control lever for my box blade is in the fully up position....all the way up, I get a whine and loose a lot of power for the bucket. if I drop it down just a notch, the whine goes away and I get full power to the bucket. Is this an issue, or something I just never noticed before?

You need to adjust the stops on the three point control, get the WSM for your tractor and it will run you through the adjustments.
What's happening is you are dead heading the pump hence the loss of power, it's not a good thing. ;)

Tuck,

what NIW said,

the relief valve is kicking in , that is the noise your hear, the whine. Adjust the settings on the lever to limit the upper movement

There's 2 nuts on a threaded rod on the back of the tractor, should be right hand side. You'll want to loosen the nuts, and move them accordingly to adjust your top limit. I can't remember offhand which way you need to go, but when you go the right way you'll notice the 3pt drop when its all the way up. You'll need to adjust the top limit so that you have about half an inch of freeplay, freeplay being the position of the 3pt all the way up, and manually moving the 3pt arms up until they stop. Again, from the time the 3pt is all the way up, you should be able to pick up the arms and get another half an inch when you move them manually.
