What temps is everyone seeing on their B7100HSTs? With an infrared temp gun I'm seeing 205-212 at the top of the radiator. The bottom of the radiator is about 110ish and the cylinder head shows 210-218. This about normal? It's never whistled but I did just flush the radiator and refill and it does weep, but I'm chalking that up to overfilling. Thanks in advance

Wayne,

those numbers are right in line with what I shoot with my infrared gun too. Bottom of radiator sounds a little low, cyl head is about right. I notice that at certain areas on the head I get 5% different readings. I would NOT place 50-50 mix in there.....more like 70-30 - water to mix. Too much glycol will make it run hotter. And do not overfill, and dont leave too much air.....yeah - I know, it is a PITA to get just right........like a small baby, pukes out what it doesnt want and if you place air in it .....well - we have seen the results of that!:D:)

I am gonna place a gauge in mine soon, I need to get my crap done around here to get to that, I want to see what the fluid temps are when cutting and under load!

Keep that front end clean and you will be in good shape! I blew mine out the other day and "thought" it was clean........lots of chaff in all the hard to get to places!

85Hokie, you mention adding a gauge. In a previous thread there was discussion of dia. on interior of radiator hose on B7100, so you get the correct hose fitting for sensor. I am pretty sure it's 32MM. Can you confirm that?

yes, I bought a 32mm (I was wrong - 34 mm is the right one ) hose and the T adapter .....now I havent stuck in on the neck of the head yet!!!! But I am sure it will be the right fit - the T adapter fits very snug in the factory replacement hose.:)

Good Deal thank you for confirming that for me. I do have 50/50 in it now as it was pre-mix diesel coolant so I'll drain some out and replenish with water when I add the gauge package I just ordered. Going to do temp/oil psi/fuel level out on the hood. Ordered an 18" chrome stack w/rain cap too since I flipped the exhaust to straight up. LOL The more I use this little guy the more I like it. It pulled my entire 78 F250 supercab 4x4 rolling chassis around yesterday without hardly noticing. I think I like this little guy better than my big MX, so much character.
