Hello this is Zach and I just bought a new B2620 with a 60" mmm and just joined the forum so I figured I'd introduce myself real quick.

My wife and I live in central IL on an acre with quite a bit of plowing to do in the winter and pretty much the entire acre needs to be landscaped.

I bought a used 2001 21hp White (mtd) zero turn tractor for $175 and have been mowing and plowing with that for the last 2 years. This year I knew the mower was on its last leg as I had a small issue with it just about every other week. Then I went to mow last Sunday after church and the mower was toast, one of the valve guides pressed out of one of the heads and the mower just wasn't worth putting any more time or money into...... So it was time to figure out what to do for a replacement (as we got 3" of rain that day LOL) I've been dreaming about a Kubota since we bought the property but didn't think we'd get one........

I work as an industrial mechanic so I'm fixing things all day long, which I enjoy, Its just different when its other peoples broken equipment you are fixing and other peoples money you are spending LOL. So we decided we wanted to either get something new or a good quality used tractor instead of another project.

We quickly decided that a lawn tractor wasn't a good fit, and a garden tractor would get the job done, but that's a lot of money to spend on something with such limited capabilities.

So then we decided that in the long run a sub compact or compact tractor would be our best bet, plus in the next 5 years or so we'd like to buy 5 acres or so to build on eventually.

We started looking for a good used sub compact or compact tractor with a mmm and a loader, which turns out is nearly impossible to find. Our last stop was one of the local Kubota dealers and all he had used was a top of the line B series and also and L series, both way out of our price range.

That's when he quoted us a BX2660 which was a little more than we wanted to spend, but it gave us something to think about and got the wheels spinning........

We just renovated and moved into this house, from a smaller house at which we did the same and we are selling the old house and will be making a nice profit. Most of that money will be going to pay off the wife's student loans. We'll she was feeling a little guilty that I did all the work to the house, so she said, why not use the rest of the money to get me a new tractor. That sounded like an offer I couldn't resist.

So now I really started researching hard what I wanted/needed and I kept coming back to Kubota.

The BX2660 would have been great for what we need now, but I was worried that depending on what we get for our next property it may be a tad on the small side so I started looking at the B series. The B2320 really seemed to fit the bill well without breaking the bank too bad.

So we were all set to get the b2320, but they didn't have any in stock , but he said he could trade with another dealer and get us one.................... or............... He had a B2620 in stock which was like $1400 more. Of coarse I got an evil eye from the wife LOL, but we were able to talk him down to only $500 more for the tractor and 60"mmm plus I got him to throw in a block heater. I really think it was worth the extra money for the larger engine and slightly larger tractor.

Today they are working on un-crating the tractor and installing the mmm and they should be delivering it Monday or Tuesday, and I can't wait.

I'll be saving up some money and getting a loader for it this fall. I also may be getting a box scraper for $100, I have a co-worker who's dad bought a lot of 3 point implements and doesn't need the box scraper. I've also seen all the homemade implements people are doing and we have a nice stash of scrap steel and cut offs at work for "government" projects at work that I've been sizing up LOL. I'd also love to have a backhoe, but that's just a lot of $$$$ to spend.....

I'll post a couple pictures when I get the tractor.

Congratulations, you"ll love that tractor. I have a B2920 and it is great. Don't wait too long to get a loader, because once you get it, you will never look back. They are so handy for doing various things around the yard.

Congratulations on your new tractor, we love our BX2660, but have bigger tractors when needed. If we didn't, we would have bought a B Series.

I agree on the FEL; won't buy anything without one anymore.

You won't be sorry. I also have a new B2620 and if you search some of my threads you will see it is really capable of doing some serious work.

What are you going to use for clearing snow? Reason I ask, is if you want to keep the loader on and use a rear snowblower, you might want to look into getting the rear hydraulic outlets and control lever if you want hydraulic chute rotation.

There is also a 40A alternator option if you want to have more charging power if you plan on adding lots of work lights.

Have fun!

Thanks guys, I'll definitely be saving to get a FEL as soon as possible, I already have a list of projects in mind for it..... LOL

We got the house as a repo, and the people who lost it bought more house than they could afford and didn't do anything to the yard or house for 7yrs. The gal that had it before them was disabled and wasn't able to do any work in the yard for at least 15 years. Obviously there is definitely a TON of yard work that needs to be done, and I need to bring in a couple truck loads so the tractor will come in VERY handy.

For snow removal I'll probably just use the FEL, but I was looking through the Fab & Customization section and seen a couple people mounting the ATV plows to the buckets and using that. I have a 48" manually adjustable plow that I could probably widen to the width of the bucket and use also, if I get creative I'm sure I could rig something up to swivel it from side to side too.....

Right now I'm heading out to trim our trees before it rains so I can mow without having to fold down the ROPS all the time....

Hope you all have a good Fathers Day!

Welcome to OTT! That is a great tractor! For general driveway snow clearing, I mostly use the rear blade. With rotate and offset, you can get the snow berm well off the drive edge.

Thanks guys, I will surely post some pictures when I get the tractor.

I was supposed to get it today, but when the dealer went to put the m.m.m. on yesterday one of the brackets was bent so they had to order a new bracket. They thought it was probably fixable but they didn't want there to be a repaired part on a new tractor or have it mow unevenly.

I was really wanting to get the tractor today, but at least they didn't hammer the bracket back into shape and through it on hopping i wouldn't notice. It sounds like i should be getting the tractor this Thursday now.

I've done a lot of research but haven't bought a Kubota yet, but from everything I've read and heard you will be happy. Mind if I ask how the machine is equipped and what it cost you?

I'm just getting the tractor with a block heater and 60" mid mount mower and it was right around $16,400, that was with their 60 mo 0% financing, if I had cash they would have knocked $700 off additionally. I think he also quoted the loader around $3,500, but I'll wait until fall to pick that up when I have the cash for it.

I think this was a decent price, we couldn't get him to budge any more.

Alright guys, I got the tractor yesterday and I LOVE it. I was able to mow about half our yard before a storm blew in and I had to put the tractor in the garage.

It got rained on a little on delivery so it could use a nice wash and wax, hopefully I'll have time for that this weekend.

I'm glad I went with this tractor versus the BX I was looking out, this thing has plenty of power and still maneuvers around our yard quite well!

Congratulations! I just got a very similar B2650 and it's a monster. I have been using it to do all sorts of things and it performs very well for many things. But if I had any 1 item to change, it would be to put a little more weight in it. I'm doing some bucket work and some box scraping and while the tractor has tons of power, it wouldn't hurt to have a few more pounds to help out with traction issues. I even have the R4 tires like yours.

You won't be disappointed.

Very nice tractor, if I didn't have other tractors, I too would have gone with a B over our BX.
