Removing cutting height control dial

On my BX same problem. Take a heat gun, or a hair dryer and warm it. Plastic will expand pretty good. I used that method while tearing apart my BX and all went very easy, not like some poor guys here complained about. I'd not do a flame if possible.

Just pull on it. It'll come off. Have to pull pretty hard on some of them. I've never had one break, that I can remember. Try to use even pressure, hand or fingers on each side and it helps to pull it straight up. I'm 6'7" tall so I get plenty of leverage, those who are a little more vertically challenged might find it to give more leverage if you stand on the mowing deck or even the floorboard.
