The idea is that people who have LOTS of time on their hands, and want to make the internet faster and safer are allowed to modify the "browser" as they wish.....

we as a kubota forum have direct input on new machines that K is making, with a few clicks we can say....... that BX needs a toothbar.....and spacers.....and so on! In other words - we modify the product for the better of the people using it!
chromium is also the browser thats coming on lots of android devices now...

It's the same (yet different) as Internet Explorer, Fire fox, and Chrome.
If you run another internet interface program, then yes you can uninstall it without issue.
