If a tractor is listed as a cat I and II, how does that work? Mx5800 for example. Nothing extra needed for the machine...just flip something for I or II ?

Most tractors, whether stated or not, can accommodate equipment one category under its rating. But be aware that equipment rated at a lower category than the tractor may not be strong enough to take the stress that can be applied to it.

My MX is cat 2. Most of my implements are cat 1. I simply insert a reduced bushing in the swivel eye to receive cat 1 pins.

Now I use pat's quick hitch lower link devices which converted Cat 2 to cat 1,
Permanently.

MX tractors are delivered with a cat 1 bushing kit. Mine was in the tool box.
