Hey guys new here and looking to buy a new tractor does anyone know the price of the new L2501? also found dealer with left over L3800 4x4 gear drive with loader and r-4 tires for $20,000 does that price seem fair? the resale value on clean low hour kubotas that I looked at is sky high. thank you!

Welcome to the site.

Never heard of a L2501.

The price of that L3800 is a little high IMO. The dealer should be able to get the price down around 18-19K, but price varies depending on what part of the country... I do really like my gear drive L3800DT!

The -01 is for the motors with Tier 4 emissions, i.e. DEF, DPF, etc. Get the bigger one without emissions. Most of the 1 ton diesel truck sites talk about emission related problems frequently. If you search this user name on the StupidDuty site you'll find 8 emission sensor problems I've posted about. Of course a tractor won't leave you stuck in an intersection with a horse trailer.

The 2501 does not have a DPF to be tier 4 final compliant. It falls just under the horsepower class that requires it.
That is why Kubota just came out with this model....for those that want a larger chassis without the emissions after treatment.

My dealer said the 2501 is about $23K before taxes. So I don't believe the L3800 at $20K is a bad price on a new one. It has about 10-12 hp more than the 2501 - otherwise they are about the same tractor.
