It will work fine. As well as basic universal tractor hydraulic fluid. I wouldn't go really expensive like sudt2 :p with it being a geared tractor, you would just be wasting money.

From what another member posted, The mystic jt5 is the equivalent to kubota sudt. I run the napa brand universal tractor hydraulic fluid in my l1501. Retails for $35 for a five gallon pail :D

What your buying sounds much cheaper as well. Im not familiar with kubota sudt but if its specifically equal to JT5 then that sounds great. The only spec requirement I can find on my L245 trans/hyd fluid is SAE 80 and I just wanted to make sure that what I buy is pretty close to that weight. I guess most of them are pretty close.
Thanks

I use Mystik JT-5 in all of my equipment, and have had excellent results with no hydraulic fluid caused issues.
I have an older GST (Glide Shift Transmission / Hydraulically shifted and clutched transmission) and it is very picky on fluid, I get perfect shifts all the way from upper 98f to -25f.

It will be far better than what originally was in your L285. ;)
