L245dt glow plug removal without injector line removal

This has probably been covered but I wanted to service my 82 l245dt and change plugs. I was hesitant to remove the manifold and/or the injector line Because bad things usually happen for no reason.

I ended up cutting and welding a wrench at an angle and removed it without any other items coming out

I had to modify a wrench like that before - to get the CENTER injector out, split a 19mm so it would slide over the fuel line (much like a flair nut wrench)......broke the wrench, that somebeaauch was on tight!!! AND it was a cheap wrench too.


Were the old glow plugs bad? You test prior to pulling?

The plugs may have been getting a little weak IMO. I never tested but seems like it would take a long while to heat up. Newish to me tractor, i just default new items (fuel/air filters, plugs, etc)
