New L2501 HST- idle speed

Dealer dropped off my new 2501hst today. Got about 2 hours in. Noticed it won't idle below 1100 rpm. Is that normal idle speed?

BX's (2370) idle right at 1400-1500;):)

My ancient (2012) L3800 idles at 900 rpm. No emissions stuff to worry about. More motor mass I suppose.

It is an Earth-warming ozone-depleting soot-venting troglodyte-era machine which should have been rounded up by the Enviro-Nazi's and sent to the crusher long ago. And that is only part of the reason why I like it so much. :D

My (made in Japan) 1974 Ford F-1700 would idle so slow you could count the cylinders firing...

"pa-TOU...pa-TOU...Pa-TOU..."

Man... that thing must be on an EPA hit list by now. No wonder you don't see any of them around.

Yeah, dealer said the HSTs idle higher to keep pump pressures up.
