Does the Z750 have a cam plug? The oil light comes on when it's hot at an idle.

Found the manual. Looks like it does. How tough is this one to get to?

It's about the same amount of work for all the engines, only exception is you might have to drop your front axle if it interferes with you pulling the front gear case cover.

Watched a youtube video of a guy doing it on an L185dt. The one on the front of the cam fell out, but the one in the back of the cam was still there. He only replaced the one in the front. Seems to me that if you go through the trouble to take it that far down, you'd do both of them. Am I wrong?

The rear plug it not an issue, even if that plug falls out (which it can't as there isn't enough room) the oil will still follow the same path as if the plug was in. ;)

So for a lot more work, it's not worth it, because in order to change that plug you have to tear the whole top of the motor down. ;)

There's a sn break between 1004 and 1005 for the gear case gasket. I found 2 different pictures for the housing. I have the one with the hockey shaped plate that comes off the front. It's the one on the left. Not sure whether that has any bearing on which gasket it uses on the back or not. Anyone know if it matters which gasket I use? The nice man at the parts counter told me to get him the serial number from the tractor but if I give him that he'll know that I have an L1500 not an L175.

It doesn't matter which case cover you have, as both old gaskets supercede to the same new gasket part number. ;)

Gasket orings are here. The plug is aluminium. It is known by the state of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. More importantly I thought that these had been changed to steel. In the YouTube video I watched they welded the plugs in. And I thought that the reason that they fell out is that the 2 metals had different rates of thermal expansion. Do other engines have the same size plug?

When I replaced the plug on a B6100 I used a tapered roller from a tapered roller bearing. Just welded it in. And made sure I had a good ground close by.

Yea I wouldn't use the aluminum plug, I would put in a steel plug and weld it in. ;)

In

Plugged in an external pressure gauge. I warmed it up and I'm still getting 50p psi at idle and over 70 at 2200ish. It's gotta be a bad sender right?
