I need a project, so looking on CL noticed an ad for a chicken tractor. It says, "Chicken tractor with small attached run. Comes with wheels to move around."

Seller doesn't say anything about the engine. Is it gas, diesel, is it seized, is it even there. And it has wheels, but says nothing about the tires. Are they R1, rice, turf...? Oh, the folks who write these ads!

Len,

They just want your money. Most don't really have anything to sell. Those who do often have zero experience posting items for sale. I love it when someone has a tractor for sale and there is one picture with the tractor, sitting far away, silhouetted in the sun. Why bother?

JUST MAIL THEM THE MONEY!!!:D

Me too! How did they come to name portable backyard chicken runs "chicken tractors"? My mental image is they are powered by an 8 chicken hitch. :D

Not to change the subject, but why are grapples called grapples? I was thinking just yesterday they should be called grabbles. After all, they do grab.

As I recall this term was coined by MEN ( Mother Earth News) way back in the early 70s, why the name came to be GOKs > the whole concept was you could almost freerange your flock and not worry about death from above ! And you put them up at night so the 4 footed marauders don't take their toll ! You know them dayumed hippies did some strange things,,lol
