Going to try some turf tires to see if they are a little easier on the yard. In reviewing earlier posts it seems like a lot of folks go to a Kubota dealer and buy tires and wheels. Is this the general consensus or are there some other options?

It seems some folks will buy a tractor with one kind of tire and then decide thats not what they want and have the dealer change them out. Then the dealer has wheels and tires laying around tripping over them. And are pretty willing to make a deal just to move them along, because tires and wheels are not a big mover, so you might find a deal.

Purchase replacement tires/wheels for my Dad's BX through Kubota Wholegoods. Price was good and the convenience of having a complete wheel/tire assembly made installation a snap.

Just remember to have them priced through wholegoods and not as parts.

I bought my BX2680 with turfs and they are great if there's no water anywhere. As we get a fair amount of rain, soggy ground=no traction so I bought a set of R4s and am completely happy; good on the lawn and much better traction.
As for buying, my dealer quoted me 1K for a set of wholegoods R4s; Messicks sold them to me for $460. Shop around is my advice.

It's very likely the $1,000 quote was based on buying through Parts and not wholegoods. Buying though the Parts Dept your purchasing wheel, tires, valve steps etc individually and then assembling as needed. Wholegoods the tires come as an assembly, but Sold through the Sales department and not the parts department.

I went through my local Kubota dealer The whole goods price was $480 including tires/wheels, tax and shipping. Not bad but had I bought just tires the dealer gets $45 a wheel to mount. Yikes!

Definitely check a couple dealers, the sales team has access to wholegood pricing not the parts counter. I have a spare set of turf filled delivered on a pallet for $450, that was 2 years ago. Might put them on this summer for the first time.

I bought turfs for the mowing season, bought from my dealer seems to me it was around $400. Love having full second set, change over is super easy.
