the bluing is from the heat treatment process, the journal has a lot of metal transferance, but , a machine shop should be able to regring it with no problem , I have done this many times, just have to get the bearing measurement for the machine shop, & when you get it back use plastiguage to check oil clearence , make sure you clean out the block oil gallies, there will be metal shavings all through it from the bearing failure

For the rod journal STD is 1.8487in. I can get STD .2mm or .4mm.
the same for the main bearings. STD is 2.0441in. Can get STD, .2mm, .5mm.
Piston STD is 3.35in can get STD,or .5mm oversize.
Camshaft I haven't found any yet.
That is what I have to give him, right?

that is correct, the machine shop will measure the crank, and regrind it as little as possible, so you can use the smallest oversized bearing possible

Update, I got a call from the machine shop this week. The bore got honed out, (STD), the crank is now .2mm. He said to put new pistons and new rings, along with .2mm bearings. I am leaning towards getting Kumar BrosUSA parts, found them on Ebay. Does anyone have experience with them? Are they good parts? Or should I go for OEM?

I got my parts back from the machine shop and new parts. Does anyone know of a website or book I can get to help me put this thing together? I have torques but I like to also have other info.

Al,

Usually I'd strongly suggest just ordering a WSM from Messick's. It'll easily pay for itself in the long run as they're good manuals. However, I just checked the WSM price and was shocked. I'd fire the clown at Kubota that has decided to ream people by making service info so expensive. Stupid! (end of rant) They are good manuals, but wow...

I believe the engine in your tractor is a D1402-DI-A. If that is correct, and you only want or need the engine manual, you can order a reprint of just the engine manual for $35 from here:

Good luck,

Steve

Al,

The Kubotabooks site has free scans of the owner's and parts manuals for your tractor if you don't already have them.

http://www.kubotabooks.com/

Sometimes the site gets busy and goes down. If it happens to, just keep checking back.

Hope this helps,

Steve
