Hi to everyone- I spent the last month reading posts about the B2601 and the B2650 before I decided which one to buy. I picked the B2650- It's more tractor than the B2601. It should be delivered in a week. I added a loader (have one already) a 60" belly mower and the dealer tossed in a 72" blade- nice to have a small blade. I'll wait to measure up the mower clearance before I spread the rears- we need all the stability we can get in our hills. I wanted a small utility tractor and this one seems to fit perfect. I have 1700 hrs on an L5030 and it will be nice to take the pressure off of it. I'll cast some ballast this week thinking this platform needs a lot or rear help- I have weights and fluid in the L5030 and it still stands on it's nose sorting logs if you aren't careful. The only problem is now I need another trailer and I get a glare from the other side of the dinner table when I bring it up! we'll see.....

Any suggestions for this tractor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the good info I've had already.

Bill

I see you also live in WI. May I ask where you got it??? I've been looking at the B2650 also the last few weeks. Looking at purchasing later this spring or early summer.

We have a top shelf dealer in Menomonie. I've bought 3 tractors and a zero turn from them- they have 3 other stores too but I've never been to them.
Good luck-

Did you get a cab? That is the main reason I went with the B2650, heat in winter and AC in summer with tunes. I have had it just shy of 2 years and have never regretted it for one second. Was not sure of the hydro tranny but it sure makes life easier and is very precise, not hit or miss like my 8Ns. Hope you like it as much as I do and good luck.

No cab on this one. I needed something small with more clearance in the woods. I have an L5030 with a cab that covers everything I need in cold weather. Had the blower on for 8 weeks this year. I can usually plow and wing banks if the snow isn't too bad.

Hi BCSB. Good choice on the B2650. You'll soon find out that your new tractor will more than earn its keep doing what you want it to do! For working in the woods in your area you'll definitely want to modify the standard brush guard to protect your grille and radiator. That's a beautiful area!! I have relatives just north of there in Cumberland and have been running around in that area for quite a long time. May wind up hauling my tractor there this summer to help clear brush and stumps in the brother's woodlot/hunting parcel. Good luck with your new purchase!

I hear you about the grill guard needing a little help- I like the expanded steel I've seen a few pictures of. I wonder about a skid plate or 2 underneath- I've had a few branches jam under my 5030 but have been lucky and not done any damage. I'll have to look closer when it's delivered.

Did you ever source a skid plate for your B2650? I need one. Stick and branch damage from underneath while working in the bush is getting costly!
