I have bought 2 used Kubotas in the past. Now I’m interested in a L2501.
When the new year tractors come out in January are they usually more money?
Any hints of new models for 2019 in that HP range (25-30) without emissions?
In no need of Tractor until spring.
Dealer quoted 19k for a 2501 with loader and loaded tires. Is that about rite?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm told new tractor age is determined by year sold and not year built. Warranty coverage begins @ sale date, not manufacturing date.

That said, tractors are not influenced by calender year. Further, models do not automatically change from year to year as do on road vehicles.

With Kubota specifically, it is important to monitor model changes announced at the annual September dealer's meeting.

If the model of interest undergoes upgrades, at that point, the previous model might be discounted.

Messick's posted a you tube video regarding 2019 changes. You might review that to determine if the 2501 is scheduled for modifications.

If a model was built prior to announced price increases, that tractor might escape the increased charge for that model tractor, or dealer might simply pocket the difference, and apply increase to every tractor of that model on his lot.

Know the date of announced price increase, and know the date of manufacture, Compare the two.

Unless major change has occurred, I would buy sooner than later. If steel prices are going up and all those tariffs - they might affect 2019 prices.;)

No significant changes announced in that market segment.

Buy now rather than later.

Prices will go up and/or incentives will likely go down.

I haven't heard of any changes to that model (L2501) for 2019, so best to buy one now as others have said.

Most of the new changes were covered in that Messick's video.

no real changes listed for 2019 models...

so IF you could actually find an unsold 2018 model? you would get a much better deal on the $$.

im gonna wait until 2020 for my next new Kubota. might still pick up another used one in between.. but not another new until 20.

I was looking through my files when I first started tractor shopping. It has been three years. Yes three years. I was quoted a L2501 in 2015 for the same price I purchased it a few weeks ago.

Ordered it today??? - very curious are you getting a new factory fresh unit? - if so, how long is the wait time? - I bought mine in September and the dealer called me 2 weeks later telling me it was in....It was alright.....obtained from God knows where it laid for a year or so......Might not matter to everyone but it sure did matter to me......

From what I have read and heard anecdotally the L2501s are in high demand. It would be rare for one to be laying around.

Tractors are not like cars. They don't have new models of the same type every year, or even every few years. To my knowledge the only significant change to the B and L series is the L3560 now being offered with less creature comforts for a few thousand less. So if you are looking at the L3560, you might save a few thousand if you wait for this to hit. Otherwise no reason to wait.

I haven't seen any sitting around at my 3 local dealers. If you aren't mowing a bunch and need the PTO HP, they are great machines.
