I am catching up on some long overdue maintenance on my L345DT. I am in the middle of an engine swap and waiting on parts so now have time to pay attention to another problem. I don't get any drive to my front tires. When lifted, I get counter rotation on the tires. The couplers are all intact (I pulled them all to swap the engine). Seems like there is no drive from the transfer case. Shift lever goes up and down OK but does not seem to engage. Any suggestions on next steps?

I don't know if I have already sent you a link for the WSM or If you have one so I'll do that.
Jack up only one front tire off the ground and try and spin it.
If the propeller shaft spins then the problem is in the rear if it does not then the problem is in the front end. ;)

So I pulled my transfer case today and found that there is something wrong with my shift lever. It does not engage with the shifting slot on the driven gear. It is about 1/8 inch short of even engaging in the gear.

I just called the Kubota dealer and the shift lever is a discontinued part. Does anyone have a spare that they would be willing to part with? Also looking for pictures of what the transfer case is supposed to look like when it is set up properly.

Thanks

I called a tractor wrecking yard in WI. They have a complete transfer case but don't want to piece it out. Instead I get the opportunity to pay $600 for the whole transfer case...<whine> <sniff>. I guess its cheaper than a new tractor and I really want my four wheel drive back!

Have you tried west Kentucky tractor parts?
http://wkytpstore.com/

I will be able to look tomorrow at what other models had the same shift fork if that's what you need. ;)

I did try West Kentucky and they were not able to help. I'm going to a local place today and there is an outside chance they may have one off of an L295DT which might interchange. Heres hopin'!

You can always take it to a machine shop and they can either fix your existing or make you a new one. It's pricey but when you can't find a part... make it!

Thanks for the link and the advise. I will reach out and maybe get the piece to put my original back together.
Today I was able to find a replacement gear box from a local company (Farmland Tractor in Tangent Oregon) that only set me back $450 (ONLY????). I'm posting pictures of the lever in my old unit and the new one.

I was able to mount the transfer case from an L295DT this weekend. It fit great so now I will have four wheel drive again! Also have an extra case, shaft, bearings, and drive gear on the shelf!

I mounted the new transfer case and now when I engage 4wd I hear a loud whine. Maybe alignment? Anyone with experience with the dropdown?
