My tach drive gear on my l245dt is not turning do to rust frozen up the tab is not broken how do I take it apart to check the drive gear

Are you talking about the part that bolts to the front of the motors gear case?
If so, it's not a part you can disassemble if it's bad replace it.

Thanks for reply. I just thought if thay put it together it should come apart ,I guess it dos not matter seeing there are no replacement parts for it.

They still make the part. If you look down at the bottom right on the search area it shows the part number has been superceded.

I just finished installing my new tachometer controller and gasket. I have included photos of the part numbers and the old part. The replacement part was not painted.
